SKITZY follows the downstream effects of cultural trauma suffered by the Tlingit Indians of Southeast Alaska during the first half of the twentieth century, as shown in my mother’s story, the physical and emotional trauma experienced by victims of the polio epidemic, as detailed in my father’s story, and the lifelong struggle to resolve the internal challenges carried forward from a traumatized childhood, as revealed in my story.
